WICHITA, Kan. — Junior forward Quinn Collins has been named the KCAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Bulldogs to a 1-1 record last week, the league announced Monday (Nov. 20).
“Quinn had a great week,” head coach T.J. Eskildsen said. “He is still adjusting to his role and how we play. I believe he has a chance to be a big defensive presence for us all season. I’m really excited for him to receive this award.”
A native of Redondo Beach, Calif., Collins had an outstanding game over the weekend, blocking four shots and pulling down eight rebounds to go along with a team-high 15 points in a narrow loss at Friends University.
Collins got his week started with one steal and four rebounds in a midweek clash that saw the Bulldogs come away with a 61-57 win over Bethel College.
The Bulldogs travel to Forest City, Iowa to take on Waldorf University on Saturday (Nov. 25) before returning to the Sport Center for a conference showdown against Kansas Wesleyan on Nov. 29.
