
Buhler’s Ben Clouse scored four touchdowns to lead the Buhler Crusaders to a 37-12 victory Friday night at Crusader Field in Buhler.
Crouse scored on TD runs of 51, 5, 1 and 35 yards. He rushed for a career-high 289 yards on 34 carries.
The Crusaders, who scored the game’s final 23 points, improved to 2-0.
Buhler hosts Great Bend next Friday. The Panthers defeated Olathe South 40-21.
Buhler led 7-6 after one quarter, 14-6 at halftime and 27-12 after three quarters. The Crusaders added 10 points in the fourth quarter for a 37-12 victory.
Landon Martinez caught a 23-yard TD pass from Buhler quarterback Asher Zachary. Nathan Wells kicked a 30-yard field goal and made 4-of-5 extra points.
Brecken Albert, who caught 8 passes for 192 yards, caught TD passes of 18 and 80 yards for the Augusta Orioles. Augusta missed an extra point kick and a 2-point conversion.
Buhler outgained Augusta 439-265 in total yards. The Crusaders rushed for 322 yards and passed for 117. Augusta had 230 passing yards and 345 yards rushing.
Jacob Miller caught 1 pass for 58 yards and made 9 tackles on defense.
Asher McCounnaughy led the Crusaders’ defense with 11 tackles and Jaxon Pratt added 10.
Garrett Gleason and McCade Zachary each had 1 interception. Augusta committed three turnovers.
Augusta hosts Winfield next Friday.
