Clayton Receives NAIA All-American Honorable Mention

Kansas City, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2022-23 Men’s Basketball All-America Teams.

Solomon Clayton was announced as a NAIA Honorable Mention All-American for his play throughout the season. Throughout the season, Clayton grabbed 82 offensive rebounds (2nd in KCAC), tallied 49 blocks (2nd in KCAC), shot 59.2% from the floor (3rd in KCAC), and scored 472 points (4th in KCAC).

Mason Walters of Jamestown (N.D.) was named the NAIA National Player of the Year after helping guide the Jimmies to Kansas City and to a 27-7 record. The NAIA National Coach of the Year will be announced later this spring.

Three teams of 12 players each comprised the three teams, along with the 46-player honorable mention list. No school had more than one selection on each team while IU South Bend (Ind.), Morningside (Iowa) and Northwestern (Iowa) each had two listed on the honorable mention list.

All of the selections are made by the All-America Committee and are comprised of first, second and third teams as well as honorable mention. There are 12 members on each of the first three All-America teams.
