The Cheney High School girls golf team tied for third place with Andale at the Hesston Invitational with a team score of 389.
The tournament was played at the par-69 Hesston Golf Course.
Thomas More Prep-Marian won the team title with a 373 score, followed by Hesston at 381. Rose Hill placed fifth at 399, Buhler sixth at 405, Larned seventh at 412, Pratt eighth at 418, Mulvane ninth at 447 and Kingman 10th at 478.
Cheney senior Raegen Black fired a 93, followed by senior Lauren Sanders with a 96. Senior Ashlyn Satterlee and junior Hailey Wells shot 100s. Black tied for ninth, Sanders tied for 16th and Satterlee and Wells tied for 20th.
Three freshman played as individuals for Cheney. Ella Haar was the fifth-place medalist with an 88, Emme Bearley placed seventh with an 89 and Audrey Webb placed 19th with a 97.
Andale’s top golfer was Billie Jo Chaffin, tied for 12th, 94; followed by Jacee Mattox, tied for 16th, 96; Peyton Jantz, tied 32nd, 106; and Hannah Mans, 39th, 114.
Buhler’s top finisher was Gabriella Gillespie, who placed eighth with a 91; Gracin Bergmeier, tied for 20th, 100; Ellie Goering, tied for 25th, 100; Kylie Gregg, tied for 32nd, 106; and Niah Dilbeck, 38th, 113.
Hesston’s Wendy Roth and Elizabeth Hosford and Larned’s Ariana Meyer each shot 84s and tied for second place.
Hesston’s Maci Kramer tied for 14th place with 95.
Thomas More Prep-Marian’s Bryan Schoepf captured first-place medalist honors with an 83.
