CANTON, Kan. – Canton-Galva High School Athletics had a busy day on Tuesday, April 7, highlighted by the Boys Golf team’s third-place finish at the Herington Invitational and a new school record broken by a member of the Track & Field team.
BOYS GOLF
The Canton-Galva High School Boys Golf team played in the Herington Invitational on Tuesday, April 7, at the Herington Country Club. The Eagles placed 3rd as a team, led by Christian Rich’s 9th-place finish. Wes Prieb placed 10th, Bentley Deines finished in 13th, Rustin Ayers finished 26th, Hayden Hett placed 42nd, and Chace Wescott finished 43rd.

TRACK & FIELD
The Canton-Galva Track & Field team took part in the Remington CTKL meet on Tuesday. One athlete, Jaxon Nightingale, broke the school’s Discus record during the meet.
Nightingale had a throw of 158′ 7″, breaking a 44-year record set by Raymond Paramore. Paramore’s previous record was 153′ 6″.
BASEBALL
Canton-Galva Baseball was swept by Inman on Tuesday. Inman won both matchups in 5 innings, winning game one 15-2 and game two 15-1. The losses move the Eagles to 0-10 on the season.
