McPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson High School Volleyball will host the Sub-State bracket at Canton-Galva High School on Saturday, Oct. 25.
The Bullpups finished the regular season 32-5, holding the No. 3 seed in the 4A West Regional standings. Andale and Clay Center held the Nos. 1 and 2 spots, respectively. McPherson will be joined by No. 6 Wellington, No. 11 Clearwater, and No. 14 Ulysses.
McPherson will face Ulysses for the first match, which will begin at 2:00 p.m. If they win, they will head to the Sub-State Finals to face either Wellington or Clearwater. If the Bullpups go 2-0 on the day, they will head to the 4A State Tournament once again, looking to improve from their 4th-place finish last season.
The tournament will be held at Canton-Galva due to the ongoing fix to the McPherson Roundhouse Court following flood damage in June. The fix is projected to be finished in November, making the court available in time for basketball season.
