McPHERSON, Kan. – 42 personal records were broken in the McPherson Invitational Thursday, May 1 as McPherson High School Track & Field recognized the 12 seniors on their teams.
Both the girls and the boys track teams finished in 4th out of nine schools. The two Hays squads finished in first place. The boys & girls distance events saw the Bullpups towards the top of the leaderboard as the teams went up against tough competition.
The girls 800M Run saw three Bullpups finish top five as Lexi Patterson finished 2nd, Maryn Sandbo in 3rd, and Ada Prose in 5th. Patterson also took the top spot in the 1600M run. Eva Ramey placed 2nd in the 3200M Run. The 4x800M Relay team of Ada Prose, Kayla Porter, Izabel Backhus, and Eva Ramey finished 2nd in the event. Andi Buschbom finished 2nd in the Long Jump, finishing just three inches shy of first place. Karsen Burris placed 2nd in the girls Javelin with 115’8″.
The Bullpup boys had great placements too as Caleb Muehler got the top spot in both the 1600M and 3200M Runs, dominating the competition. The 4x800M Relay team also won the event as Kayden Friesen, Tripp Pelzel, Caleb Muehler, and Ethan Elder won by almost 20 seconds. Field events saw top three finishes as Dylan Hall won the Shot Put and EJ Sellens placed 3rd in the High Jump.
