McPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson High School Winter Sports began their season during the first week of December.
WRESTLING
Bullpup Wrestling hosted their season-opening Duals against Mulvane on Thursday, Dec. 4. The Girls Wrestling team won 41-36, and the Boys won 71-12. The Bullpup Girls only fell in three instances that were not via forfeit. The Boys had a dominant day, falling in only two matches total.
The Girls team also participated in the Doug Kretzer Klassic in Lindsborg on Saturday, Dec. 6. The Bullpups placed 11th out of 19 schools. Amara Dossett and Kara McQueen placed 4th in their respective weight classes. Juana Miguel Gaspar finished 5th in her class, and Molly Owen placed 6th in her class.
BOYS SWIMMING
The Bullpup Boys Swim team took part in the Maize Invite, which occurred Dec. 5-6. The Bullpups placed 11th out of 15 schools, comprised of 3A-6A schools. The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Ben Bocox, Kurt Mendez, Manny Morales, and Beckett Schuckman led the Pups with an 8th place finish. Schuckman also placed 8th in the 100 Freestyle.
