McPHERSON, Kan. – The Bullpup Varsity Softball team stays undefeated at 18-0 on the season following a triangular Tuesday, April 15 and a divisional doubleheader at Mulvane Thursday, April 17.
4/15 TRIANGULAR
Game One: W 15-0 (4 Inn.) vs. Liberal
The Bullpups started the week with a triangular at the Grant Sports Complex, starting in the early afternoon against Liberal High School with a 15-0 victory.
McPherson ended with 14 hits on the game, six of which on extra bases. Addie Herrera pitched all four innings, allowing four hits and striking out four in the shutout. Herrera also went 2-3 at the plate with a double and a triple, driving hoem three runs. Haely Hagemann went 3-3 with two doubles and 3 RBI’s, Addison Chapman went 2-3 with a triple and 2 RBI’s, and Rylie Whitfield went 1-2 with a home run. All nine batters got a hit in the contest.

Game Two: W 6-1 vs. Maize
Addison Chapman continued on her amazing season in the circle with a strong complete-game showing against the Eagles, helping give the Bullpups the win. Chapman threw all seven innings, allowing four hits, a run, and striking out eight.
The Bullpup offense had 10 hits and three free passes via the walk. Chapman had three of those hits including a double. Hagemann led with three RBI’s, going 2-4 with a double. Pera Bauer went 2-3 with a triple and Carmin Pavlovich went 1-3 with a home run.
4/17 AT MULVANE
Game One: W 4-0
The Bullpups were held in check in the first three innings as they were scoreless, but Chapman on the mound kept the Wildcats scoreless as well. McPherson finally got on the board in the 4th inning on an RBI single on an 0-2 count by Ava Romero.
Addie Herrera and Haely Hagemann each had two hits. Romero and Pera Bauer had two RBI’s apiece. The only extra-base hit was by Chapman, which was a triple.
Chapman threw the full game, allowing just three hits and a walk in the shutout.

Game Two: W 12-4
The bats were on for game two with McPherson racking up 12 knocks on the game. The Bullpups also had tremendous eyes at the plate, walking 11 times in the contest and only striking out three times.
Hagemann and Carmin Pavlovich had three hits apiece and five combined RBI’s between the two. Bauer and Chapman racked up a multi-hit game as well with two each.
Herrera started in the circle for game two, throwing four innings, allowing two hits, two unearned runs, and had two strikeouts. Chapman slammed the door in the final three innings.
The Bullpups are 18-0 on the season. They will have a quad Tuesday, April 22. They will begin with a matchup against Rose Hill in game one then will play either Emporia or Derby in game two.
