McPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson High School’s Girls Soccer team played three games between March 30-April 3 for the 20th Annual McPherson Invitational, placing 3rd after defeating Salina South 1-0. Valley Center won the Invitational Tournament.
McPherson started the tournament with a 6-0 win against Newton. The Bullpups took on Valley Center in the Semifinal, which resulted in a 2-2 tie, but Valley Center won on penalty kicks 4-3 to advance to the championship.
The Bullpups were able to shake off the loss to defeat Salina South 1-0 in the 3rd Place Game on Friday, finishing them at 2-1 in the tournament. Addison Shaft scored the lone goal in the contest, doing so in the second half.

McPherson Girls Soccer is now 3-2-0 on the season. They will host Mulvane on Tuesday, April 7 for an AVCTL-III/IV matchup.
