ANDALE, Kan. – The McPherson High School Girls Basketball team fell to Andale on the road, 47-41, on Thursday, Feb. 5.
The Bullpups started on the right foot with an 11-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Andale stormed back to tie the game at 19 at halftime. Andale’s defense staggered McPherson late, limiting them to only six made shots in the second half. Costly turnovers in the home stretch helped Andale pull away, despite a comeback effort by McPherson.
Nine different players scored for McPherson, led by Brooke Doile’s 10 points. Jersey Alexander had 9 points for the Pups. Andale was led by Edyn Stolz’s 12 points.
McPherson falls to 8-9 on the season. Their non-league finale will be Tuesday, Feb. 10, at home against Hays, where they will host their Think Pink night, raising awareness and money for Women and Children Combating Cancer in McPherson County. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Roundhouse.
