McPHERSON, Kan. – On a gloomy, windy, chilly day in McPherson, the Mac High baseball team split against reigning 3A State Champion Wichita-Collegiate, winning game one 8-1 but falling via run rule in game two 11-1 in 5 innings.
GAME ONE
McPherson – 8, Collegiate – 1
The Bullpup win was a pitching and defensive masterpiece, with Logan Beede starting, and winning, his third game this season. Beede allowed just one hit, which was an infield single in the 5th inning. The offense capitalized in the 3rd and 4th innings, scoring 7 combined runs in those innings, led by Isaac Barnett finishing 2-2 with a home run and 4 RBI’s. The Barnett HR is the first by the Bullpups this season.

GAME TWO

Wichita-Collegiate capitalized on defensive mistakes in the opening frame with an 8-run first inning, which consisted of three hits and four Bullpup errors. The Bullpup offense tried to mount a comeback, but Collegiate’s pitching held the Pups to just one base hit. The game ended in the 5th inning via run rule, as Collegiate won by 10 runs.
