Bullpup Baseball 18U Squad Show Out in Arkansas

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – The McPherson Bullpup 18U summer ball squad traveled to Bentonville, Ark. for the Chad Wolff Classic.

The Classic, hosted by Five Tool, brings teams from around the Midwest to play against some of the best summer baseball competition. The event brings in dozens of 15U, 16U, and 17U/18U teams.

The McPherson Bullpup team played in four games June 12-15. The team with a 3-1 record as part of the 17/18U National Pool.

The team won their first game in the nightcap Thursday, June 15, defeating the Lake Hamilton Wolves 10-4 despite only having five hits. The team walked eight times and hit four of their five hits for extra bases. Brody Seidl went 2-3 with 2 RBI and 2 R. Carter Allen went 1-3 with a home run and 3 RBI. Cade Strathman and Rock Creek’s Ryker Zoeller contributed with a hit as well. Logan Beede struck out six batters in six innings, getting the win on the mound.

The team then played two games Friday, June 13, starting with a morning matchup vs. US National Midwest 17U – Castelli. Allen went 3-5 and Seidl 3-4 in the offensive bout for the Bullpups. Strathman drove home 2 RBI despite going 0-3. Cooper Sieben, who hails from Rock Creek, threw the complete game, striking out six batters. The team would later play the Tulsa Prospects Green 17U team, falling 5-0. Ian Razak struck out 10 batters on the mound, but McPherson struck out seven times themselves.

McPherson would end the event with a win, defeating the Bryant Black Sox 8-2. It was a near whole-staff-pitching day, but Buhler native Brayden Henry picked up the win pitching two innings. Offensively, the Bullpups had nine hits, with multi-hit and multi-RBI days from Carter Allen and Brock Richardson.
