NORTH NEWTON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — Another comeback attempt by the Bulldogs came up just short as the Bulldogs found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-2 final score on Wednesday (Oct 9).

Bethel scored the lone goal for the first half in the 10th minute, but the floodgates would open up in the 2nd half. Bethel struck again in the 47th minute with a penalty kick to make it a 2-0 game, but the Bulldogs came barking back thanks to Anthony Pereira in the 65th minute to make it 2-1.

Despite the hounding defense of MC, Bethel once again made it a two-goal gap in the 83rd minute. The gap was brought back down to one thanks to a Nathan Van Wyck penalty kick in the 85th minute. The Bulldogs attempted to get one last shot at a repeat of their matchup against Kansas Wesleyan where Joao Rocha scored a game-tying goal in the dying seconds of the contest, but MC couldn’t find that same magic in this matchup.

The Bulldogs return to McPherson Stadium for their next matchup as they face off against Southwestern on Saturday, October 12. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
