McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — The McPherson College Bulldogs wrapped up the fall semester Wednesday (Dec. 13) with a narrow 78-69 loss to the William Woods University Owls inside the Sport Center.

The Bulldogs trailed 18-14 early on, but an 11-0 burst capped off by a three by Antonio Watson gave them a lead they would hold until the 6:19 mark of the second half.

Collin Storr led the Bulldogs (9-3, 4-2 KCAC) with 16 points and eight rebounds, five of which were offensive boards. Storr also blocked three shots and had one steal. Jamil Hardaway added 11 points and four rebounds. Curtis Rose and Quinn Collins each finished with nine points.

The Bulldogs shot 41.3 percent (26-for-63) from the field and made six of their 17 three point attempts. However, free throws proved to be the difference in the game, finishing just 11-for-20 from the charity stripe.

Conversely, the Owls shot 45.6 percent from the field, and were 9-for-29 from beyond the arc, including six in the first half. Four Owls scored in double figures led by DJ Purnell with 18 points, while Henry Shannon III added 13 points and Lavel Harris finished with 12 points and four steals. Gacoby Jones scored 11 points and had three assists.

The Bulldogs open 2024 with a trip to Leavenworth, Kan. to take on Saint Mary on Jan. 3.
