McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — Jamil Hardaway matched his career-high with 22 points Monday (Jan. 29) to fuel the McPherson College Bulldogs to a 79-59 win over the York University Panthers inside the Sport Center.
Collin Storr and Labron Wilson added 12 points apiece, while Owen Braxmeyer finished with 10 points. Wilson grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots, while Storr finished with a team-high three steals. In addition to his career-high in points, Hardaway pulled down a career-best nine rebounds, including four on the offensive end.
The Bulldogs scored 42 points in the paint, and had 18 points on 16 Panther turnovers. MC finished with 18 offensive rebounds.
MC never trailed, jumping out to a 21-13 lead with 10:21 left in the first half. The Bulldogs ballooned their lead to 46-24 late in the half, thanks to a 14-0 burst that included threes by Braxmeyer and Hardaway. From there, the Bulldogs kept York at bay.
Dwight Glover was the lone double-digit scorer for the Panthers, finishing with 17 points and seven rebounds. Rhino Hernandez led the way with four assists.
The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday (Jan. 31) for White Out Night against Friends University. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
