ASHLAND, Neb. (MacBulldogs.com) – The McPherson College Bulldogs cross country squads turned in a solid effort at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic in Ashland, Neb. Saturday (Oct. 26).
The men’s team was led by Brock Lauer’s 8k time of 25:49.49. His mark was the third fastest time in McPherson College history, and was just six seconds off the school record pace.
Junior Cody Kuss notched a time of 27:09.47, which was good enough for 158th place. Isaac Hale finished the course in 29:43.54. His time was good enough for 290th place. Parker Roberts accounted for a time of 20:15.78, which was good enough for 299th.
With only four student-athletes recording times, McPherson College did not record a team score.
The College of Idaho won the meet while St. Mary (Kan.), Dordt, Kansas Wesleyan and Doane rounded out the top five schools.
The Women’s team also posted a good effort at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic this weekend.
MC was led by Amari Rob’s 6k time of 28:09.44. The mark was good enough for 27th place for the junior.
Johanna Walker notched a mark of 30:41.55 for the Bulldogs. She crossed the line in 295th place.
Kamryn Nolan accounted for 302nd place after reaching the finish line in 33:13.48.

St. Mary (Kan.) won the meet while the College of Idaho, Dordt, Kansas Wesleyan and Lewis-Clark completed the top five teams.
Both Bulldogs teams return to action Nov. 9 at the KCAC Championships, hosted by the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan.
