LAWRENCE, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — This weekend marked the true beginning for the McPherson College women’s bowling program as they competed in the 2024 Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge on Saturday (Oct 26) and Sunday (Oct 27).
The Bulldogs finished out play with a cumulative total of 6,687 pins which was just behind Kansas Wesleyan who finished with 6,692 pins and good enough to finish above a trio of other teams in Saint Mary, Kansas State, and KU.
In individual play, freshman Kaycee Carter was outstanding. She finished with the 19th best overall average 177.2 across her five total games with her high spot being an impressive 210 in her first game. Fellow freshman Kayla Wood also had a strong showing, scoring a 169.2 across her five games which were good enough to place her 26th overall. Wood’s best game came in her third where she put up 223.
The Bulldogs will hit the lanes once again this weekend as they head to Hastings, Nebraska for the Bronco Open.
