KANSAS CITY, Mo. (MacBulldogs.com) — It took until the second period for either team to crack into the scoreboard and the Bulldogs were the team to do it as a pair of late goals and a strong defensive effort were enough to get MC the 2-0 victory over the Spurgeon College Knights.
The first goal was scored in the 77th minute by Courtney Wickham, her first in the 2024 season. Assisting her on the goal was Gabrielle Martin. The second goal came courtesy of Courtney Ward in the 84th minute, who also recorded her first goal of the year. Assisting her on the goal was Andrea Salas.
MC’s defense was stout throughout the entirety of the contest, only allowing three shots on goal by the Knights which Elizabeth Scheuerman made the save on all three as she would claim her first win as the goalkeeper for MC.
The Bulldogs return home for their next matchup as they open up KCAC play against Tabor College. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
