OTTAWA, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – The Bulldogs and the Braves went blow for blow during their contest on Saturday (Feb. 1) but Ottawa landed the bigger shots down the stretch as MC falls to 0-22 on the season and 0-15 in KCAC play.

It was a first quarter to remember for MC as they jumped out to a quick 11-1 lead. Ottawa eventually clawed back and made it a one possession game, but an 80% shooting effort from the Bulldogs gave them an 18-16 lead after the first quarter of play. The scoring was not as available for MC in the second quarter as their shooting dropped to 33%, Ottawa was able to pull ahead and take a 35-30 lead into halftime.

Coming out of the locker room the Bulldogs did not falter as they nailed a pair of threes and kept within striking range of the Braves, but late turnovers and big shots by Ottawa were enough to down MC.

Amarion Tease and Gillian Rodgers led the scoring for MC as both scored 15 while sharpshooter Taylor Berkheimer nailed a trio of threes to score nine.

McPherson will finish out this two game road trip in Lindsborg as they face off with Bethany College on Wednesday, February 5. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
