KANSAS CITY, Mo. (MacBulldogs.com) — Following an exceptional sophomore season, Camila Sanchez has been selected to the NAIA All-America Third Team, the NAIA announced Thursday (May 23).
A native of Bradenton, Fla., Sanchez finished 10-6 in singles in the regular season, including had wins over Ana Josic from (RV) Reinhardt University and Alisha Moldakhmetova from NCAA Division II Northeastern State University. She was instrumental in the Bulldogs’ first KCAC Tournament title since 2019, going 1-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles in the KCAC Tournament.
“Camila’s working her way to be one of the best in the nation,” head coach Keiran President said. “Can’t express how proud we are of her and how excited we are to see what more she can accomplish in her collegiate career!”
The accolades continue to roll in for Sanchez, who is a two-time First Team All-KCAC Selection, and the 2023 KCAC Freshman of the Year.
Sanchez is just the second All-American in program history, along with former Bulldog great Brittany Zipf who was a second-team All-American in 2017.
