KANSAS CITY, Mo. (MacBulldogs.com) — For the second year in a row, senior Michael Beltran has landed a NAIA All-American nod, this time first team honors, the NAIA announced Thursday (May 23).
A native of Ibague, Tolima, Colombia, Beltran finished the spring season with a 9-3 record, and a 7-1 mark against conference opponents. Beltran, along with doubles partner Martin Millos, also went unbeaten in KCAC play, and dropped just one match to an NAIA opponent (Georgia Gwinnett).
He was also instrumental in the Bulldogs postseason success, going 1-1 in singles in the KCAC Tournament, and scored the Bulldogs lone point in the 4-1 loss in the NAIA Tournament to Lindsey Wilson.
“What a way to end his collegiate career!” head coach Keiran President said. “His hard work and dedication to the sport did not go unnoticed. Congratulations and were proud of you big man!”
Beltran, a four-time first team All-KCAC selection, was a second team All-American last season. He is just the second two-time All-American in team history.
