Buhler Wins Shootout with Mulvane

BUHLER, Kan. – Less than two years ago, Buhler and Mulvane played a football game with just one touchdown – the game’s only score went to Buhler.

Friday at Crusader Stadium, the teams played a game that was a complete 180-degree turnaround. Buhler scored nine touchdowns and used a punishing ground game in rolling by Mulvane 59-36.

Buhler dominated on the ground and through the air. Ben Clouse ran for a career-best 212 yards and he also scored three touchdowns., while Jeffrey Neill completed 14 of 18 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns.

Mulvane’s Fisher Dye also had a huge game, scoring two rushing touchdowns, two receiving touchdowns, and he returned a fumble for another score.

The win vaulted Buhler to third place in the Class 4A West standings on points difference, as the Crusaders are 4-1 along with Wamego and Abilene.
