Buhler Swimmers Capture Home Meet Win, Seniors Honored

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Buhler boys swimming and diving hosted its senior night meet on Tuesday at the Hutchinson Y. The Crusaders finished first out of seven teams who participated and set five new school records. Eight seniors competed in their final home meet.

“They have put a lot of yards in the pool and come a long way to get where they’re at,” head coach Shane DeWeese said.

A Medley Relay: 1^st (Spencer Hines, Hudson DeWeese, Ben Helus, and Dawson Banning)

B Medley Relay: 4^th (Logan Schmidt, Marshall Birney, Calvin Shank, and William Trumpp)

200 Free: Mitchel Cross (6^th), William Trumpp (7^th), Logan Schmidt (8^th), and Matthew Morgan (11^th)

200 IM: Hudson DeWeese (2^nd, School Record, State Qualifying Time), Isaak Neighbor (3^rd), Henry Trumpp (6^th)

50 Fee: Ben Helus (1^st), Dawson Banning (5^th)

Diving: Ben Helus (1^st, School Record)

100 Fly: Spencer Hines (2^nd, School Record), Calvin Shank (6^th), Marshall Birney (9^th)

100 Free: Dawson Banning (8^th)

500 Free: Hudson DeWeese (2^nd), William Trumpp (5^th), Matthew Morgan (7^th), and Mitchel Cross (8^th)

A 200 Free Relay: 5^th (Logan Schmidt, Henry Trumpp, Mitchel Cross, and Marshall Birney)

B 200 Free Relay: 9^th (Andrew Auxier, Ryler Hartnett, Caleb Spencer, and Isaak Neighbor)

Buhler will have some extra time off to train before the regular season-ending meet on February 4^th at Maize.
