Golf
Buhler High School Golf competed in their first 18-hole tournament of the year at the McPherson Invitational. They finished fifth out of ten teams with a team score of 371. Marlie Cooper finished in seventh place. The senior finished with a score of 82. Freshman Macy Miller finished T15.
“It went really well; it was our first 18-hole tournament of the year,” said Head Coach Brennan Torgerson. “Marlie Cooper had a career-best high school round. I thought our team did a really nice job.”

Cross Country
Cross Country hosted their own meet this week with the Buhler Invitational. The boys team finished 2nd out of 10 teams. Lane Whistler finished 3rd place with a time of 16:33. Kaden Lohrentz(5th), Gavin Lindahl(7th), and Henry Trumpp(10th) were the other top 10 finishers for the Crusaders. The girls team finished 3rd out of 8 teams in their home meet. Corbin Starkweather finished 10th with a time of 21:29 which was a personal best. Ava Koster also recorded a new personal best with a time of 22:10.
Tennis
Tennis also hosted their home Invitational. They tied for 1st place. Their singles players finished well. Out of their 16 entries they had two top five finishers. Ashlyn Coker 4th, Kayleigh Hamby 5th, Olivia Rosenstiel 8th (playing as a fill-in). Addie Caywood and Grace Tech also got some varsity action playing as fill-ins. Haeleigh Ruiz/Jaiden Gillette 1D finished 2nd place while Madi Tanksley/Faith Miller 2D finished 3rd.
Head Coach Matt Babcock was happy with his team’s performance, “I thought our home tournament was a pretty solid performance all the way around. We’re starting to settle in a little with our lineup and we’ll continue to work and get ready for Regionals, which we found out this week we will host.”

Soccer
Buhler soccer is on a tear after their two wins this week. On Tuesday at Winfield, they got the victory 4-0. Jaylen Cherry had 2 goals and 2 assists. In their second game versus Salina Central, they came out victorious 4-0. AJ Thetford had 2 goals and 1 assist in the win. The Crusaders have now won four straight games and are rolling into next week.
Final: Buhler 4, Salina Central 0. Buhler improves to 5-1 and is back on the road Tuesday to Mulvane.

Volleyball
Buhler Volleyball is now 5-6 overall after a split in their triangular this last weekend. They lost against Mulvane 22-25 and 21-25. They beat Winfield 25-21 and 25-15. This next week is Senior Night in a home triangular. They will take on Andale and Circle High Schools.
