MCPHERSON, Kan.— Buhler golf edged out Concordia and Pratt to capture the Class 4A Regional at Turkey Creek Golf Course on Monday. A single stroke separated the top three. The first-place finish qualifies the Crusaders for state golf, May 27-28 in Newton.

Sophomore Zach Chance recorded his lowest round of the year (72) to win first place honors individually. Senior Drew DeMeyer shaved a stroke off his score on the back nine to finish sixth.

Sammie Brooks recorded her 10th shutout of the season as Buhler soccer ran away from Winfield, 8-0, in the regional semifinals on Monday at Crusader Stadium. The team has boasted one of the state’s best defenses all season.

Thursday’s regional championship vs. Mulvane will be the final game played at Crusader Stadium for Buhler’s 10 seniors. In the first meeting this season, Mulvane narrowly defeated Buhler, 2-1 in overtime.
