BUHLER, Kan. – Buhler continued its dominant run, winning its fifth straight game Friday in smashing Augusta 47-0 at Crusader Stadium in the Crusaders regular-season home finale.
The win vaulted the Crusaders to second place in the Class 4A West District standings, trailing only Abilene on point difference.
Buhler was in control throughout, finishing with 328 yards of offense compared to 100 for Augusta.
Ben Clouse scored two first-quarter touchdowns, from 1 yard and 2 yards, in giving Buhler a quick 14-0 lead.
A second-quarter safety pushed the lead to 16-0, and then Jeffrey Neill fired a 70-yard touchdown pass to Mitchell McDaniel, giving Buhler a 23-0 lead. Neill wrapped up the first-half dominance with a 5-yard touchdown run. McDaniel added a 40-yard touchdown run, and Dawsyn Valdois wrapped up the scoring with a 23-yard field goal.
Buhler has won its last three games in dominant fashion, outscoring its three opponents 147-43 The Crusaders will next travel to Rose Hill, which has won three of its last four games.
