The Buhler High School girls golf team qualified for next week’s Kansas Class 4A State Tournament with a runner-up finish at the Class 4A Sub-State Monday.
Buhler hosted the meet at the par-71 Hesston Golf Course.
McPherson won the regional title with a 326 score, followed by Buhler 333, Concordia 373, Hesston 380, Adale 410, Pratt 437 and Ulysses 443.
Three Buhler golfers were individual medalists. Anika Paulsrud placed third with 6-over-par 77, Macy Miller was fifth with an 81 and Paityn Weber placed sixth with an 84.
Buhler’s Addison Specht placed 11th with a 91, followed by Gabriella Gillespie, 14th, 93; and Harlie Terrell, 24th, 104.
McPherson’s Andi Buschbom won the regional tournament title with a 75, followed by teammate Brodie Kuhn in second place with a 76.
McPherson’s Lleyton Kuhn placed seventh with an 84, followed by Amelia Moody, 12th, 91; Addison French, 15th, 94; and Pera Bauer, 17th, 97.
The Buhler Crusader golfers won’t have to travel very far for the Kansas Class 4A state tournament. It will take place on Oct. 20-21 at the Carey Park Golf Course in Hutchinson.
