Buhler Girls Golf Team Places Sixth, Paulsrud 7th at McPherson Invitational

The Buhler High School girls golf team placed sixth out of 13 teams at Thursday’s McPherson Invitational with 357 score.

The tournament was played at the Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson.

Buhler’s Anika Palsrud tied for seventh place with Andover’s Isabel Hawley with a 5-over-par score of 76.

Buhler teammate Macy Miller tied for 26th place with an 88, followed by Paityn Weber, 32nd, 96; Harlie Terrell, 33rd, 97; Addison Specht, tied for 36th, 100; and Ellie Goering, 41st, 103.

Kapaun-Mount Carmel edged out McPherson 308-315 for the team title, followed by Andover 315, Wellington 323 and Topeka Hayden 351.

Buhler’s 357 score was followed by Newton 379, Arkansas City 404, Wichita Collegiate 421, Independence 433, Andover Central 450, Valley Center 475 and Clay Center 495.

Newton’s Naomi Koontz captured first-place medalist honors with an 8-under-par score of 63. She defeated second-place finisher Regan Dusenberry of Andover (69) by 6 strokes.

The Buhler junior varsity girls golf team competes at the Hesston JV tournament at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Buhler varsity hosts the Buhler Invitational at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Hesston.
