he Buhler High School girls and boys cross country teams competed at the Great Bend Invitational Thursday at the Lake Barton course near Great Bend.
The Buhler girls placed fourth in a 17-team field. The Crusader boys only had four runners compete and did not score any team points.
Boys and girls runners competed in 5K races.
Corbin Starkweather led the Crusader girls with a seventh-place finish. Her time was 19 minutes, 58.42 seconds.
Bella Friesen placed 16th, 20:44.4; Brynlee Adams, 37th, 21:43.91; Izzy Rivera, 56th, 22:20.23; Hannah Dick, 71st, 22:50.27; Haylee Kinast, 73rd, 22:54.86; and Allie Johnson, 107th, 24:37.23.
Ryan Cherry was top finisher for the Buhler boys. He placed 13th with a time of 16:52.31. Ben Gazaway placed 83rd, 19:09.08; Sam Hougham, 85th, 19:17.07; and Noah Napier, 118th, 20:15.49.
Gavin Lindahl and Christian Vale did not run for the Crusaders.
The Crusader runners compete at the Wamego Invitational on Sept. 13.
