Buhler 43, Augusta14

AUGUSTA, Kan. – Buhler came away with points in every quarter Friday night en route to 43-14 win at Augusta. Ben Clouse totaled 215 yards and four touchdowns to lead a dominant rushing attack for the Crusaders.

Most impressive was Buhler’s defense, which held August to 103 total yards on 46 plays. Jax Pratt helped lead the charge for the Black Knights with six tackles, one sack and one safety.

“I thought they were dominate again,” Head Coach Steve Warner said.

Augusta did manage to claw within two scores midway through the third quarter when quarterback Cade Camac and receiver Brody Haskell connected on a 30-yard touchdown pass. Buhler, however, answered right back, finding the end zone on a momentum seizing 11-play, 62-yard drive.

“It was 28-14 and our offense had the best drive of the year so far,” Warner said. “It was like they turned on a switch and said we’re going to win this football game.”

The win improves Buhler’s record to 2-0 to start the season. The Crusaders travel to 2-0 Great Bend this Friday.
