The Buhler Crusaders lost their second game of the season Friday night with a 27-14 setback at Wamego.
Buhler defeated Wamego 28-14 last season at Crusader Stadium.
Buhler’s Garrett Gleason scored on a 21-yard touchdown pass from Asher Zachary in the second quarter.
Ben Clouse scored on a 6-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Nathan Wells’ second extra point kick tied the score at 14-14.
The Wamego Red Raiders scored the first TD of the game on a 4-yard TD run in the first quarter and connected on three TD passes.
Wamego rolled up 205 yards passing by junior quarterback Logan Fulton and added 96 rushing yards.
The Red Raiders’ defense held the Crusaders to 171 total yards (92 passing and 79 rushing).
Zachary connected on 11-of-25 passes for 92 yards, including 5 passes to Gleason for 53 yards.
Clouse, who rushed for a school-record 379 yards last week against Towanda-Circle, was held to 34 yards by the Red Raiders.
Jacob Miller led the Crusader defense with 11 tackles. Jaxon Pratt made 10 stops.
Buhler (3-2) hosts El Dorado (0-5) next Friday and Wamego (3-2, three home wins) hosts Chapman (0-5).
El Dorado lost to Mulvane 52-0 Friday night and Chapman lost to Concordia 40-20.
