Buhler Boys Swim Team 7th at Maize Invitational

Buhler High School swimmers and divers finished seventh out of 15 teams Friday and Saturday at the Maize invitational.

Andover won the team title with 389 points, followed by Maize 298.5 and Derby 256.5, Maize South 216, Winfield 214, Andover Central 182 and Buhler 176.

Rose Hill placed eighth with 121 points, followed by Newton 121, Newton 106, Hesston 93, McPherson 68, Wichita Heights 66, Wichita Trinity Academy 30, Southeast of Saline 390 and Wichita Northwest 27.

Buhler’s A medley relay of senior Eli White, senior Ryler Hartnett, senior Hudson DeWeese and Gabe Auxier finished sixth overall, scoring 26 points.

Senior Eli White finished seventh in the 200-yard freestyle, scoring 12 points. Senior Ty Campbell placed 11th and earned 6 points.

In the 200 individual medley, DeWeese finished second overall, scoring 17 points. Ryler Hartnett finished seventh and earned 12 points.

Senior Zach Greenlee finished seventh in diving and earned 12 points.

DeWeese finished fifth overall with a new personal best and a state qualifying time in the 100 butterfly. He earned another 14 points for the team.

In the 500 freestyle, Hartnett finished 12th overall with a new personal best time. He earned 5 points. Junior Wyatt Regehr placed 14th, earned points and set a new personal best.

Buhler’s A 200 free relay of DeWeese, Auxier, White and Hartnett finished fifth overall, earning 28 points.

Regehr finished seventh overall in the 100 backstroke and earned 12 points.

Buhler’s A 400 free relay of Regehr, Ethan Maxfield, Zachariah Greenlee and Campbell finished fifth and earned 28 points.
