Buhler Boys, Girls Fall to Host Teams in Rock Creek Tournament

The Buhler High School girls and boys basketball tams lost to the host Rock Creek teams in the first round of the Rock Creek Furry on the Flush Tournament in St. George

The Rock Creek Mustangs won the girls game 53-42 and the boys game 66-29.

In the boys game, Rock Creek led 11-4 after the first quarter, 24-13 at halftime and 47-23 at the end of the third quarter. The Mustangs outscored the Crusaders 19-6 in the fourth quarter.

The Rock Creek boys improved to 5-0 and the Buhler boys fell to 4-1.

In other first-day boys results from the tournament, Eudora beat Goodland 62-56, Hays beat Manhattan CHIEF (Christian Homes in Educational Fellowship) 51-31, Hesston beat Silver Lake 70-54.

The Buhler boys will play Goodland at 8 p.m. Friday in a consolation round game at the Rock Creek High School gymnasium.

In the girls game, Rock Creek led 12-10 at the end of the first quarter but led at halftime 27-24.  Rock Creek outscored the Crusaders 29-15 in the second half.

In other first-day girls results from the tournament, Hesston defeated Silver Lake 56-38, Hays defeated Manhattan CHIEF 61-23 and Eudora defeated Goodland 47-45.

The Buhler girls will play Goodland at 6:30 p.m. Friday in a consolation round game at the Rock Creek High School gymnasium.
