Buhler Boys Edge Mulvane; Crusader Girls Fall in Hard-Fought Matchup

The Buhler High School boys basketball team fought off Mulvane 61-57 Tuesday night at the Jim Baker Fieldhouse in Buhler.

The Buhler boys led 16-14 after one quarter, 26-25 at halftime and 44-42 after three quarters.

Buhler’s Luke Holmberg scored 17 points and Isaiah Heredia added 14 for the Crusaders. Jacob Miller scored 9 points, Brycen McCurdy 7, Gabe Edmund 6, Asher Zachary 5 and Landon Martinez 3.

Zachary grabbed 8 rebounds. McCurdy dished off 5 assists and had 3 steals.

The Buhler boys improved to 10-9 and Mulvane dropped to 11-9.

The Buhler Crusader girls lost to Mulvane 46-41. Mulvane led 19-13 at halftime and 31-26 after three quarters.

Tori Tustian led the Buhler girls with 13 points and Kaia Edmund tallied 10. Jenna Lackey scored 6 points, Kinley Combs 4, Ella Voss 3, Harlie Terrell 2, Maddie Stallman 2 and Addy Keller 1.

Stallman grabbed 8 rebounds. Edmond, Voss and Stallman each had 3 assists. Lackey had 3 steals. Voss blocked 3 shots.

The Buhler boys and girls host Towanda-Circle on Friday and Winfield next Tuesday.

Mulvane plays at Winfield Thursday, plays at McPherson next Tuesday and hosts Towanda-Circle on Feb. 26.
