BUHLER, Kan. – On Senior Night Monday at Wheatland Park, Buhler baseball won both games against Andale. The Crusaders (17-7) currently sit fifth in the 4A West standings with two games remaining in the regular season.
Game One: Buhler 10, Andale 1
Buhler took an early 5-0 lead in game one, scoring a run in the first inning and four in the second. All four runs in the second inning came with two outs. Dylan Scripsick smacked a double to right field that scored three. He finished the game 2-4 at the plate with four runs batted in. Scripsick would then score on a line drive double by Mitchel McDaniel.
The Crusaders produced five more runs on a walk and four hits in the sixth inning.
Starting pitcher Brayden Henry went seven innings to earn win number five on the season. He held Andale to just one run on six hits while striking out nine.
Game Two: Buhler 12, Andale 0
Six Andale errors aided Buhler’s 12-run effort in game two. The Crusaders run-ruled the Indians with a nine-run fourth inning.
A single by Cash Carson drove in one of the nine fourth-inning runs. Carson, who has now hit safely in 21 of his 24 games played this season, went 3-4 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored.
Buhler had seven different players score at least one run.
SOFTBALL
Game One: Buhler 6, Andale 4
Buhler softball (17-7) split with Andale on Thursday. The team broke the school record for wins in a season with their 17th in game one.
Four runs in the third inning helped the Crusaders to secure the victory. Alexa Adame hit a bases-loaded double to center field that drove in Sydney Quint and Izy Schmidt. Adame and Maddie Stallman would then score on a double by Ella Thiessen.
In the circle, Lillian Horne scattered eight hits and 4 runs over seven innings of work to her ninth win of the season.
Game Two: Andale 11, Buhler 3
Buhler’s defense was shaky in game two, with the team committing six errors. Four of those errors came in the fourth inning when Andale scored six runs.
Sydney Quint collected two of Buhler’s seven hits at the plate. The second of those hits was a double, giving her a team-best nine on the season.

Both teams will face one final regular season test next Tuesday, May 13, at McPherson. Seeding for the post-season will happen on Saturday, May 17.
