The Buhler High School baseball, softball and girls soccer teams opened the season on Tuesday.
The Buhler baseball team was swept by Andover 12-5 and 12-10, the Crusader softball team lost the first game to Andover 15-4 and won the second game 18-2, the varsity girls soccer team defeated Newton 2-1 and the junior varsity girls soccer team shut out Newton 2-0.
Camryn White scored the Crusader varsity girls soccer team’s first goal of the season on an assist by Zoey Dick. Lakin Yoder scored the second goal.
Milli Burrola and Payton Polk scored the goals for the Crusader JV girls on assists by Kylie Gregg and Parker Harmony.
The Buhler JV and varsity soccer teams host Hutchinson on Thursday.
In other Tuesday sports action:
• The Halstead High School baseball varsity and junior varsity baseball teams were swept by Southeast of Saline Tuesday.
The Dragons’ varsity team lost 4-0 and the JV lost 10-9.
• The Nickerson High School softball team swept Hutchinson Trinity 20-10 (extra innings) and 18-2 Tuesday at the Our Lady of Guadalupe fields in South Hutchinson.
• The Hutchinson Trinity baseball team swept Nickerson 10-4 and 11-1 Tuesday at Rice Park in Hutchinson.
• The Hillsboro/Peabody baseball team opened the season with a doubleheader sweep of Canton-Galva Tuesday at Hillsboro
Hillsboro/Peabody won the first game 12-2 in seven innings and 11-1 in five innings.
• The Andale-Garden Plain baseball C team opened the season Monday with a 9-8 victory over Haven’s C team.
• The Haven Wildcats baseball team opened the season by posting a 2-0 record Saturday at the third annual Jerry Helm Memorial Air Capital Classic.
Haven defeated Marion 14-5 at Augusta and Moundridge 15-10 at Maize South.
• The Hoisington High School baseball and softball teams opened their seasons Tuesday at Russell.
The Cardinal softball team swept Russell 10-7 and 17-1. The Hoisington baseball teams were swept by the Broncos 22-12 and 12-2.
The Hoisington teams host doubleheaders against Ellinwood at 4 p.m. Friday.
• The Great Bend High School softball team swept Dodge City 25-0 and 15-0, the girls soccer team defeated Hays 2-1
