— TABOR COLLEGE ATHLETICS RELEASE —
HILLSBORO, Kan. (TaborBluejays.com) – First-year Bluejay Cross Country Head Coach Jonathon Wood has set his team’s schedule for the 2024 season. Both Bluejay Cross Country squads look to build on their success from a season ago, with the women earning their first team berth to the NAIA Cross Country National Championships in program history and the men sending four athletes to the meet.
New this season, the Bluejays will head up to Leavenworth to open their season on August 30th (Friday) at the Spire Sunset Showdown, hosted by the University of Saint Mary. While this meet is a new fixture for both Bluejay Cross Country squads, the twilight/sunset meet concept is a familiar setting.
Bluejay Cross Country makes the short trip to North Newton on September 14th (Saturday) for the Muthama-Rogers Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Bethel College. The women race and 10 AM and the men race at 10:45.
The Bluejays return to action on September 28th (Saturday), as they head down to Fayetteville, Ark. for the storied Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival. The starting gun goes off at 11:40 AM for the men and 12:20 PM for the women.
Tabor returns to the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo. after competing there last season, although this year will be slightly different with the Bluejays competing in the Brian T. Simpson Invitational, hosted by the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The men will race at 9:20 AM and the women will race at 10 AM.
Bluejay Cross Country wraps up their regular season slate with a trip to Ashland, Neb. to compete in the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic, hosted by the College of Saint Mary and Doane University. The women race at 10 AM and the men race at 10:45 AM.
The Bluejays should have a pretty good feel for the course in Leavenworth after competing at the meet hosted by Saint Mary earlier in the season, which should help as they return to Leavenworth for the 2024 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Cross Country Championships. The men are slated to start at 10:15 AM and the men will start at 11:00 AM.
Bluejay Cross Country concludes their season at yet another familiar course, this time returning to Columbia, Mo. to run at Gans Creek for the 2024 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Cross Country Championships.
The online schedule is available here and will be updated with links to other meet materials and information.
A full season preview will be released as the season gets closer.
