HUTCHINSON, Kan. (BlueDragonSports.com) – A shutout victory and a late rally for a road draw helped the Hutchinson Community College women’s soccer team move up one spot in the latest NJCAA Division I National Rankings released on Monday.
The Blue Dragons moved up one spot to No. 17 on Monday after a 3-0 home victory over Coffeyville and a key 1-1 draw at Barton. The Dragons are currently 4-1-2 overall and 3-1-2 (11 points) in the Jayhawk Conference.

The Blue Dragons have now been ranked in 13 consecutive polls going back to the 2023 preseason poll. That’s the second-longest consecutive streak of weeks being ranked in the national rankings since being ranked in 15 consecutive polls in 2009 and 2010.
Hutchinson plays only one match this week, but it will be a nationally ranked matchup as No. 9 Kansas City (6-0-1) comes to the Salthawk Soccer Complex on Wednesday in a 6 p.m. kickoff.
There was one major shake-up in the nation’s Top 5 in the latest rankings. Former No. 2 Eastern Florida State dropped seven spots to No. 9 after losing to back-to-back games last week to Tyler and LSU-Eunice.
The new Top 5 has Iowa Western (5-0-1), Navarro (6-0-1), Seminole State (5-0-1), Tyler (7-1) and Arizona Western (5-0).
Butler (5-0-2) moved up two spots to No. 6 to lead the KJCCC teams in the national poll. Kansas City is No. 9, Cowley (3-2) is No. 14 and the Blue Dragons are at No. 18.
