HUTCHINSON, Kan. (BlueDragonSports.com) – For the second-straight week, Hutchinson Community College sophomore running back Waymond Jordan Jr. was named the KJCCC Football Offensive Player of the Week.
The sophomore from Pensacola, Florida become the first Blue Dragon since linebacker K’Von Sherman last season to earn league Player of the Week awards in consecutive weeks. Jordan is the first Blue Dragon offensive player to earn awards in back-to-back weeks since Tyrell Reed Jr. last season on October 3 and 10, 2023.
Jordan had another huge game as No. 2 Hutchinson defeated No. 1 Iowa Western 38-37 on Saturday in Council Bluffs, IA. Jordan rushed for 174 yards on 24 carries and 26-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Jordan helped the Blue Dragons rush for 2:54 yards as a team against the Reivers in the No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Jordan has now had back-to-back 170-plus yards games and leads the nation in rushing with 353 yards in two games.
