Hutchinson CC Sports Information
COLBY – The Hutchinson Community College volleyball team pushed No. 11 Colby hard in all three sets, but the Blue Dragons dropped a 3-0 Jayhawk Conference decision to the Trojans on Saturday at the Colby Event Center.
Hutchinson lost 25-21, 25-21, 25-22.
The Blue Dragons fell to 12-14 overall and 4-7 in the Jayhawk Conference. Hutchinson travels to Garden City for a 6:30 p.m. match at Conestoga Arena. Colby is 19-4 overall and remains unbeaten in conference play at 11-0.
The Blue Dragons hit .112 to Colby’s .263 hitting percentage.
Sophomore Alondra Villanueva led the Dragons with eight kills on 25 swings with an .040 attack percentage.
Freshman Lauren Vazquez had five kills. Sophomore Kierny Follmer and freshman Mattie Galliher had four kills each and sophomore Jaylynn McNeill had four kills.
Karlotta Kattai had 16 kills to lead Colby.
Freshman Alexandra Garcia had 14 assists and sophomore Angela Reupena had 11 assists.
Freshman libero Clara Oliveira had a team-high 14 digs and Follmer had 13 digs.
The Blue Dragons hit .000 in the first set, .194 in the second set and .182 in the third set.
