Hutchinson Community College defensive end Darius Wiley has signed a letter of intent to play football at NCAA Division I West Virginia University, a member of the Big 12 Conference.
WVU is located in Morgantown, W.Va.
Wiley, a 6-foot-7, 255-pound pass rusher from Elizabethtown, Ky., put together a dominant season at HutchCC, and was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
He helped the Blue Dragons post an 11-0 record. The Blue Dragons will play Iowa Western in the NJCAA Division I championship game Wednesday, Dec. 17, at West Texas A&M University’s Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium in Canyon, Texas.
Wiley has 49 tackles during the 2025 season, posting team-leading marks of 17.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.
Hutchinson finished the season No. 1 nationally in scoring defense (9.1 points allowed per game), No. 2 in rushing defense (53.9 yards per game) and No. 4 in total defense (212.8 yards per game).
Against No. 10 Iowa Central, Wiley recorded 13 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, 6 tackles for loss, 3 quarterback hurries and blocked a field goal.
Wiley redshirted during his freshman year and has three years of eligibility remaining.
Wiley selected West Virginia over a lengthy list of suitors, including Arkansas, Boise State, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville State, Marshall, Michigan State, Murray State, Old Dominion, Sacramento State, Syracuse, Texas State, Toledo and Western Michigan.
