McPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson High School Boys Golf’s Blaise Hoover finished in 1st place in the 4A State Golf meet at Turkey Creek Golf Course. The team finished in 2nd place overall, narrowly falling behind State Champion Wamego.
Hoover finished 2nd overall after round one with a score of 69, but followed it up with a 70, finishing -1 combined in both rounds, two strokes ahead of second place.
Hudson Krehbiel finished tied for 11th while Owen Pyle and Paxton Ingels finished back-to-back in 41st and 42nd respectively. Cale Dahlstrom finished tied for 45th and Teegan Hains finished tied for 50th.
The team finished with a combined score of 629, just one stroke ahead of 3rd place Circle and five strokes ahead of Bishop Miege, who finished 4th. Wamego won the team title with a score of 589.
