SHARE NOW

WINFIELD, Kan. (BethanySwedes.com) – The Bethany College Cross Country teams competed in the Mid-States Classic hosted by Southwestern College.

Overall, the Swedes had 21 personal bests with eight being lifetime bests. Bethany also had seven individual placers receiving tshirts for the respective top-20 finishes.

The women’s side was led by freshman Isabella Arriola who ran her lifetime best for a 5k split enroute to her 6k finish of 14th place with a time of 27:28.

The men’s side was once again led by Senior Christopher Yoder. He was only seconds away from his lifetime best and ran a seasonal best best time of 26:50; good for a 5th place finish.

Head Coach Aaron Yoder: “Great day to be a Swede Cross Country runner!  The Bethany College teams ran well today in great weather and with good competition.  The training leading up to this meet was prepping us for a good showing and leading us into the KCAC Championships in two weeks in Leavenworth, KS.  This really built some great momentum going into our final meet of the regular season.  Our staff was very impressed with the heart and grit the Swedes showed today on the course.  With hard training week this was a good indicator we will totally be ready for KCAC Championships in two weeks.”
