Ellendale, ND. –  The Bethany College Swedes Men’s Soccer team closed out their weekend road trip with an emphatic 8–1 victory over Trinity Bible College, capping off a perfect weekend following their win the previous day against Union Adventist University.

The Swedes put together back-to-back victories, marking the program’s first winning streak in over three years. With a roster full of freshmen and several new faces this season, the team is beginning to build confidence, chemistry, and belief that they can compete at a higher level this year.

Although Bethany started with a few shaky minutes—still shaking off the previous day’s match and adjusting to the Lions’ field- the Swedes quickly found their rhythm. In the 14th minute, Baptista Amofa once again opened the scoring, continuing his personal scoring streak after netting against the Warriors the day before. From there, the match tilted firmly in Bethany’s favor. Emmanuel Dukuly doubled the lead with a composed finish after linking up with Brandon Gomez, and just before halftime, Richard Livingston produced a brilliant individual effort to set up Mordecai Masakwa for his first collegiate goal, giving the Swedes a 3–0 lead at the break. Defensively, Bethany held firm, not allowing the Lions a single shot on target in the opening half.

The second half saw Trinity Bible earn a questionable penalty, converted by Myers to make it 3–1, though it proved to be little more than a consolation. The Swedes, visibly unhappy with conceding, responded with even more intensity. Amofa added his second of the afternoon before Dukuly scored twice in under 10 minutes to complete his first collegiate hat trick, stretching the lead to 6–1. With both teams tiring, Bethany’s depth made the difference. In the 76th minute, Lukas Wiebe struck from distance—his effort deflecting in for his first collegiate goal. Finally, in the 81st minute, Antonio Robles put the finishing touch on the performance with a spectacular three–toed left–footed strike from outside the box, sealing the dominant 8–1 result.
