SALINA, Kan. (BethanySwedes.com) – The Swedes’ golfers were in action this week, this time hosting the Carmichael Cup at the Salina Municipal Golf Course for both the men’s and women’s teams.
On the women’s side, Allision Applequist placed 11th out of 24 golfers shooting a 179 (+39) finishing just four strokes behind tenth.
For the men, the Swedes would field three separate teams finishing in second, seventh, and tenth. The “A” team consisted of Mads Hasenschwandtner (+4), Filip Hjerten (+6), Will Briggs (+8), Hans Woelfel (+11), and Luke Tate (+14). The “B” was Daniel DeGeorge (+20), Aiden Lynch (+22), Tim Biggs (28), Taylor Hardin (+31), and Chase Bellows (+34). Lastly, playing for the “C” team was Oliver Christopher (+16), Jacob Handt (+34), Dylen Slusser (+49), and Nate Nyquist (+58).
Mads Hasenschwandtner would led the Swedes with a fifth-place finish needing 214 strokes to complete the course. Not too far behind were Filip Hjerten and Will Briggs with 216 and 218 stroke, respectively. Oliver Christopher led the “C” team shooting a 226 while Daniel DeGeorge led the “B” team with a 230.

The men’s team will take a trip to Le Mars, Iowa to partake in the Northwest Iowa National Invitational hosted by the Willow Creek Golf Club. Play is set to begin at 9:00 am on Monday, September 16th. As for the women’s team, they will compete in the Central Kansas Classic hosted by the Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson, Kan. Play is also set to begin at 9:00 am on Monday, September 16th.
