The Berean Academy Warriors knocked off perennial state contender Moundridge 44-38 in the Class 2A boys sub-state No. 2 title game Saturday at Elbing.
Emory Kukula led the Berean Academy Warriors with 15 points. Heath Churchill led the Moundridge Wildcats with 18 points.
In the 2A sub-state No. 1 championship at Elbing, Classical School of Wichita defeated Salina Sacred Heart 59-52 in overtime.
Tylan Sinclair led Classical with 20 points. Jed Dolloff scored 15 and Kellen Neisler 12. Noah Hines led Sacred Heart with 18 points. Will Tuttle scored 15 and Maddox Wells 13.
Berean Academy will take a 22-2 record to the state quarterfinals. Moundridge finished the season with a 21-4 record.
