ELBING – Abree Smith led a balanced Berean Academy with a game-high 11 points, and the Warriors’ stout defense clamped down on Trinity Catholic on Friday during a 43-19 win.

The Celtics struggled against the smothering man defense that Berean played. They made just one first-half field goal and five in the game, four of which came in the fourth quarter.

Berean led 7-1 after one quarter before getting its offense on track, outscoring the Celtics 28-6 over the next two quarters.

Anika Paulsrud led the Celtics with seven points.

Trinity falls to 1-17 and will hit the road again Tuesday to Bennington.
