McPHERSON, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce McPherson High School junior Rylie Whitfield as this week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Hutchinson Community College.
The week – Whitfield had one of her best weeks in her high school career, as she helped McPherson to a pair of wins. In a Tuesday 44-18 win over Winfield, Whitfield had eight points and three assists. Then on Saturday in a 64-36 win over Circle, Whitfield scored a career-high 23 points. She sank all six 3-pointers she attempted against Circle, and Whitfield added six rebounds.
The season – Whitfield, a junior guard, has been a steady, reliable presence for the 5-6 Bullpups, who have won four of their last six games. Whitfield averages nine points, four rebounds and three assists per game.
