Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce Buhler High School junior Mallory Hirst as this week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Hutchinson Community College.
The week – Hirst helped Buhler girls soccer get its season off to a promising start, as the central defender used her physical presence in helping Buhler beat Newton 2-1 and tie Hutchinson 1-1. Coach Randall Rank praised Hirst’s leadership and field vision – with and without the ball – in helping keep Buhler’s defense organized while also helping start the attack.
The season – Hirst, a junior transfer, has steadily risen as one of the top players in the area. A quiet leader, Hirst has brought experience and knowledge to a Buhler defense that is young and inexperienced but showing promise.
